Don Nielsen

Chairman & CEO

Mr. Nielsen spent most of his business career building Hazleton Corporation. Hazleton was in the biomedical and biological research and testing business. Nielsen ran this company for 23 years growing it to 2500 employees and a listing on the New York Stock Exchange. Hazleton was purchased by Corning, Inc., in 1987. Since then, Mr. Nielsen has devoted most of his time to Public Education. He served for eight years on the Seattle School Board. He has been CEO of Light Doctor since 2008.

Sam Knauft

Controller

Mr. Knauft joined the company in May of 2008. Prior to Light Doctor, Mr. Knauft was a consultant for the firm of Bennett and Porter. In that capacity he was installing MAS 90 accounting systems in client companies.

Dan Petitt

Founder & VP of Strategic Accounts

Mr. Petitt was the founder of the predecessor company of Light Doctor. Mr. Petitt has been in the lighting business for 30 years and sold his company to Mr. Nielsen in 2004. He remains with the company as the senior lighting expert and deals with strategic accounts of the company.

Dan Thomas

Service Manager, Certified Lighting Efficiency Professional, Managment Consultant

Mr. Thomas has been with the company for over 20 years and holds numerous lighting licenses including: Certified Lighting Efficiency Professional (CLEP), Certified Lighting Management Consultant (CLMC), and Certified Energy Manager (CEM). Mr. Thomas manages the Service Group of Light Doctor, which serves over 1000 locations throughout the Pacific Northwest.

Rachael Rieken

Operations Manager

Ms. Rieken has been with the company for 17 years and, during that time, has held numerous positions. As Administrative Manager, Ms. Rieken oversees all proposal preparation, interfaces with all utilities and manages both purchasing and warehouse operations.

John Douglas

Francisco Segura

Project Manager

Mr. Segura was a Naval Electrician before joining Light Doctor in 2003. Since then, he has continually taken on additional responsibilities culminating in his present position as head of the Project Group. In that capacity, Mr. Segura manages all of the retrofit work conducted by Light Doctor.

Ann Olson

Service Desk Manager

Ann is a graduate of Central Washington University where she received a degree in education. She has been in the lighting business for over 20 years, all dealing with lighting service and maintenance. She is the voice of Light Doctor and her voice is well known to our many service clients.

Shane Petitt

Senior Lighting Consultant

Mr. Petitt has been with the company for over 20 years and has performed almost every job. He is a Journeyman Electrician and now is the company’s senior lighting consultant. His expertise is recognized by both our clients and the utility companies we serve.

Jason Cantley

Lighting Consultant

Lighting consultant for the Oregon market, residing in Portland. Jason is a northwest native and an Oregon State University alum who joined Light Doctor to utilize his 11 years of northwest electric utility and consulting experience. Jason is a certified BPA energy auditor and has 4 years of commercial lighting experience helping clients realize the financial and functional benefits of lighting technology upgrades.
