Mountlake Terrace, WA ---February 8, 2011----The Bureau ofReclamation and the Bonneville Power Administration have recently been awardedEPA's 2010 Champions of Environmental Leadership and Green Government Award. This award recognize agencies thatparticipate in the Federal Green Challenge, which challenges them to reducegreenhouse gas emissions, energy and water consumption and better manage theirelectronics, purchasing, transportation and waste.
The award was based upon a lighting retrofit done by LightDoctor, LLC., at Grand Coulee Dam. This$1.2 million contract involved the installation of thousands of highperformance T8 fluorescent lamps in the dam's powerhouses and tunnels, LEDlamps in turbine rooms and pit areas and very long lasting induction lightingin the machine shops and high bay areas.
The installation reduced enough energy for Grand Coulee Damto increase capacity by one full megawatt. The 9 million kilowatt hours of added electricity per year could havepowered nearly all U.S household televisions turned on during the Super Bowl.
Light Doctor has had the privilege of serving the BPA andBureau of Reclamation on many retrofit projects involving other dams, militaryfacilities and Government Buildings.

Light Doctor, LLC. announced today that company revenues grew 70% during calendar 2010. Moreover, the company’s efforts in doing lighting upgrades reduced electrical consumption, in client companies, by 17.7 million KWHs.
Light Doctor’s efforts, in energy savings, are the equivalent of saving over 11,800 tons of CO2 emissions per year or removing 1889 cars from the road for one year.
Light Doctor’s rapid growth allowed the company to hire throughout the year and to expand its geographical coverage to cover entire Pacific Northwest.
